Version Control and Live Editing

What is Version Control and Live Editing

Version Control in cortx ensures that every change made to specs, documents and roadmaps is tracked and recoverable. Live Editing allows multiple team members to collaborate on the same document in real time, with visibility into each other’s updates and comments.

How It Helps

  • Allows live editing of documents without version conflicts.
  • Ensures instant updates to keep teams aligned.
  • Supports tagging and comments for quick feedback.

How to Use

  • Open any spec or roadmap from your Workspace.
  • Click the Edit button or pencil icon to enter editing mode.
  • As team members make changes, all edits are saved automatically and visible live.
  • To view past versions, use the version control feature available in the document pane.

  • Compare versions, track who made changes, and revert to earlier drafts if needed.

  • Add inline comments to discuss specific edits and collaborate during reviews.

Tip: Use versioning to confidently iterate on specs while preserving a complete change history.
